GEOTEK is looking to optimize the composite manufacturing processes, challenge current operating procedures, and identify and propose new equipment, technologies, and processes to promote safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with common thermoset resin systems, including polyester, vinyl-ester, and urethane
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing tooling design and development
  • Practical application experience of engineering structured approaches and methodologies, including DOE, FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Experience with 3D modeling using SolidWorks of parts, assemblies, and drawings with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5
  • Experience with finite element analysis software systems
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3-6 engineers and engineering technicians with direct responsibility of the filament winding composite manufacturing process
  • Support GEOTEK’s operations by ensuring the filament winding composite manufacturing processes are defined via work instructions and manufacturing standards
  • Support GEOTEK’s growth by optimizing the composite manufacturing processes, challenging current operating procedures and identify and propose new equipment, technologies, and processes to promote safety, quality, and productivity
  • Support design, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of composite manufacturing tooling that meets production needs
  • Conduct weekly engineering project review meetings, providing support and guidance to team members
  • Scope and delegate engineering projects that support and improve safety, quality, and productivity in the composite manufacturing department
  • Research, propose, and implement capital expenditure projects

Other

  • Four year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, composites, manufacturing, or chemical preferred)
  • 5-10 years of professional experience working in a manufacturing environment, with recent leadership/management and composites/pultrusion/filament winding experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) is essential, including ability to develop and deliver the intended message efficiently
  • Ability to work with different levels of staff from line workers to executives throughout the organization is highly desirable
  • Must be able to stand, lift, use manual tools, and power tools
