The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) GLobal INfrastructure and Development Acquisition (GLINDA) requires a Compute and Storage Architect / SME to provide strategic and technical leadership in the architecture, design, planning, deployment, and management of enterprise-class compute, storage, and hybrid cloud environments, supporting mission-critical and corporate support operations with an emphasis on security, compliance, cost efficiencies, and scalability.
Requirements
- Familiarity with container technologies (Kubernetes, Tanzu) and cloud-native application platforms.
- Strong knowledge of zero-trust security models and cloud governance frameworks.
- Experience working in Federal Civilian secure environments
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or Design Expert (VCDX).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions
- Commvault Certified Professional.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and current infrastructure components to assess gaps and recommend alternate technologies and solutions where appropriate.
- Drive discussions on future planning and technology road mapping, guiding enterprise adoption of emerging compute and storage technologies while maintaining backward and future compatibility with existing components.
- Develop and validate data center architectures that optimize performance, security, and scalability across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
- Design scalable and maintainable virtualization, storage and backup solutions.
- Design and implement VMware Cloud Foundation environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise performance and resilience goals, oversee deployment and optimization of vSAN-ready nodes, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and optimized storage operations.
- Design and manage data backup and recovery strategies leveraging Commvault Metallic for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud workloads.
- Provide expertise on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design, deployment, and ongoing optimization for enterprise users.
