The NYPD is seeking to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order.

Requirements

  • A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and two years of satisfactory full-time computer operations experience, in a large-scale networked, multi-tiered, or mainframe computer environment.
  • Proficient in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, PowerShell, and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Microsoft SQL 2016/2019, MS Office 2010/2013/2016, and O365.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks or equivalent IT incident management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide citywide IT incident support, leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills and incident management methodologies.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Conduct on-site installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, adhering to configuration management standards.
  • Perform system validation, preventative maintenance, hardware diagnostics, software updates, and physical system upkeep.
  • Accurately document all service activities, system changes, and resolution steps.
  • Install, configure, and maintain printers, copiers, and multifunction devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve printer issues including hardware malfunctions, network connectivity failures, and device errors.

Other

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in '1' above;
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in '1' above;
  • A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to '1', '2',or '3' above.
  • Strong customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
