Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern for Computer Engineering (FPGA development) to write, simulate, and test RTL code (VHDL/Verilog) on an FPGA.

  • Basic FPGA architecture and design, with applied knowledge of either the AMD or Altera FPGA devices and their associated application environments.
  • Possess basic technical expertise to apply discretion and judgment to complete assignments of simple scope and complexity, using current technology such as FPGAs, Microprocessors, DSPs, and Interface Controllers.
  • Basic VHDL firmware programming capability, and having applied that knowledge on an FPGA device (AMD, Intel).
  • Having utilized AMD Vivado or Altera Quartus development platforms to successfully build and test an executable hardware implementation of code which they have written.
  • Use of the Siemens Questa HDL simulator, including UVM verification techniques.
  • Experience with MATLAB modeling is a plus.
  • Higher level code development, including Nvidia CUDA, OpenCL, Simulink HDL Coder, and AMD Model Composer are also a plus.
  • Digital board design of mixed signal boards to support FPGAs

Responsibilities

Other

  • Pursuing a degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer science.
  • This position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Any knowledge of digital signal processing functions, specific to radar and electronic warfare capabilities, including digital receivers and exciters.
  • This position will require a government security clearance.
