The company is looking to mature the deployment and delivery of shared database utilities and scripts, and improve infrastructure security to support development team autonomy.

Requirements

  • Database knowledge and understanding of their core concepts with any of the following: MySQL, DB2, and/or PostgreSQL
  • Experience scripting with tools such as sh, ksh, bash, awk, sed, Python, and/or Perl
  • Experience with Unix and Microsoft Windows environments
  • Experience with build and deployment technologies (Gitlab/GitHub)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Ansible & Terraform)
  • Experience with database monitoring and observability tooling
  • Experience with secrets as a service for database credential management

Responsibilities

  • Align database build and deployment and other tooling to Company’s IT general controls
  • Collaborate and educate the Database Administration community on build and deployments methods
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in the organization to gather and share best practices
  • Understand the compliance landscape and ensure repositories, pipelines and tooling is up to standard
  • Contribute to the furthering of the Core Portfolio’s goals for infrastructure as code
  • Implement industry standard pipelines within GitLab/Github using Ansible to automate an existing library of tools
  • Implement security modernization efforts such as Secrets as a Service

Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent working experience, or industry certifications
  • 3-5 years of experience working with DevOps and database administration
  • Must be local or willing to relocate to the greater Seattle, WA area
