General Motors is looking to develop innovative approaches to enhance customer experience through wireless connectivity in connected and autonomous vehicles
Requirements
- Research experience in at least one of the following areas: mobile systems and applications, wireless communication, wireless network protocols, cyber-physical systems, wireless sensor network, intelligent transportation system, data science, or other related areas
- Strong theoretical, experimental or software programming skills
- Hands-on experience building empirical systems to develop connected vehicle systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud and edge computing
- Hands-on experience with socket programming
- Experience with data analysis or AI/Machine Learning for engineering applications
- PhD degree in a related area
Responsibilities
- Develop connected vehicle systems and applications for safety, infotainment, and robotics
- Develop and implement new vehicular applications and services in prototyping systems
- Develop and implement vehicular network protocols prototyping systems
- Customize operating systems and software architectures that facilitate and support vehicular communication applications
- Evaluate and analyze the developed protocols, systems and application services either via extensive simulations or via empirical experimental measurements
- Participate in government-funded research work, such as the USDOT collaboration projects
- Document research work through internal and external publications

- Master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering
- Ability to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week
