Honeywell Intelligrated is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team to lead and mentor software engineers, conceptualize, design, engineer, and execute industry-leading projects for automated control systems, and drive technological choices behind complex automated control systems.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable of object oriented languages (C++, C-Sharp, & Java) and ‘C’
- Fieldbus knowledge (Profibus, EthernetIP, ControlNet etc.)
- SQL experience
- 5+ years of automation programming
- Ability to evaluate electrical prints and define control device requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, engineer, and execute industry leading projects from start to finish.
- Develop complete and concise system Description of Operation (DOO), test plans and user guides.
- Integrate cutting edge bar code reading technology to track and sort cases.
- Deliver successful material handling solutions to the customer by developing and implementing detailed commissioning plans.
- Performs code reviews.
- Completes all in-house testing and emulation.
- Ability to evaluate electrical prints and define control device requirements.
Other
- Lead and mentor Software Engineers.
- Interface with industry leading customers.
- Attends all project related turnover meetings, functional design reviews and team meetings.
- Meets scope, budget, and schedule for the assigned projects.
- Maintains and tracks issues list, reporting to Supervisor / Manager as required.
- Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.
- Be able to mentor and lead other Software Engineers
- A valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel 60%, work nights and/or weekends
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions
- Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a non-technical audience
- Capability to follow guidelines and ensure efficiency on given project tasks
