NukeMed Technologies is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to build and lead a new controls engineering department from the ground up to support the radiopharmaceutical industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on PLC/HMI programming and debugging experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell automation products.
  • Proven experience in controls engineering management, including team leadership and departmental development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with external controls integrators, including defining project scope, managing deliverables, and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Advanced ability to read, interpret, and apply detailed engineering specifications, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and reporting on key engineering initiatives to senior management.
  • Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of industry best practices in all engineering activities.

Responsibilities

  • Define, coordinate, and manage requirements for all controls engineering projects, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust systems for the documentation of software, electrical schematics, and associated hardware, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members in programming and troubleshooting using Siemens and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC/HMI platforms.
  • Oversee and interface with third-party controls integrators, particularly for large-scale automation projects, including defining project scope, managing deliverables, and ensuring integration quality.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, processes, and tools for the design, development, testing, and commissioning of control systems, integrating seamlessly with electrical and software engineering teams.
  • Drive innovation in automation and system integration, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety.

Other

  • Build and lead a new controls engineering department, including the recruitment, hiring, and development of Controls Engineers, Electricians, and other technical staff as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-focused environment that encourages teamwork, professional development, and open communication across all levels.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and a proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration within multidisciplinary groups.
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of driving organizational change and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • This role may require occasional travel to one or more of the NukeMed Technologies and SpectronRx locations as needed to meet company objectives.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license
