Empower's Corporate Bond team needs to analyze investment-grade and high yield companies and their bond securities within a sector-specific investment portfolio to support the company's General Account, Separate Account, and CLO investment programs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years (3+ years preferred) of relevant corporate credit and capital markets experience
- Knowledge of the U.S. fixed income markets, corporate bond trading and relative value analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Access
- Proficient in S&P’s Capital IQ application and various Bloomberg fixed-income applications
Responsibilities
- Research and recommend corporate credits, including new issues and secondary market IG/HY bonds and leveraged loans, in support of Empower’s General Account, Separate Account, and CLO investment programs
- Present new investment proposals to the Head of Corporate Bond Research and senior managers
- Complete internal credit approvals and documentation efficiently and on time
- Develop subject-matter expertise in assigned industries and manage an existing portfolio of corporate bond investments
- Under supervision, support credit restructuring and develop loss mitigation strategies
- Occasionally contribute to cross-departmental projects related to investments and acquisitions
Other
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics
- Must possess solid business and investments writing skills
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or MBA/MSF preferred
- May be required to complete the CFA designation
