Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking energetic individuals for a ten-week summer internship to assist with IT projects, initiatives, and support, utilizing technologies, languages, and services to support the rapidly changing healthcare industry. Interns will broaden their knowledge by being exposed to various programming languages and tools, architectures, security, and supporting database systems.
Requirements
- At least 6 earned college credit hours related to computer science and/or Cybersecurity

- Experience in any of the following: Cyber Defense competitions, Ethical hacking, Firewall administration, Identity and Access administration, Authentication and Authorization, Cloud Engineering or Administration, Endpoint Security administration, Security operations and design, Application packaging and distribution, Endpoint management
- Knowledge and working experience with MS Word, Excel and general IT infrastructure components; including but not limited to servers, desktops, and/or databases.
Responsibilities
- Hardware and software troubleshooting; Interaction with end-users
- Analyze problems, gather requirements, and determine and implement a solution.
- Apply skills in the areas of: requirements definition, vulnerability discovery, security hardening of existing products, and defensive control capability implementations.
- Responsible for researching and recommending security products that could be used in the environment to increase security posture and enhance security usability.
- Giving a presentation about your work assignment and projects, as well as what you learned from the internship program
Other
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 above
- Must successfully complete relevant aptitude assessment(s) for the competencies needed for the position where applicable
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills required. Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism
