Siemens Smart Buildings aims to create efficient, safe, adaptable, and responsible environments by transforming building data into intelligence for informed recommendations to improve building performance, reduce energy usage, and enhance HVAC equipment and system reliability. The Cybersecurity Center of Competence Internship is seeking to contribute to these goals by enhancing organizational security policies, implementing cybersecurity solutions, and supporting various IT and OT security initiatives.
Requirements
- General knowledge of industry standards/regulations of security standards, e.g. NERC CIP, CMMC, NIST, ISO27001, IEC 62443.
- General awareness of technology mega-trends such as cloud computing, AI and other groundbreaking technologies.

Responsibilities
- Contributing to updating organizational security policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Participating in and collaborating with IT leaders to implement cybersecurity solutions for various building technologies.
- Working in various industrial disciplines to learn about IT infrastructure deployments for building, campus, and smart city automations.
- Supporting gaps assessments and ITOT managed service activities.
- Participating in security reviews and management processes for OT/IT systems.
- Collaborating with cyber security teams to ensure that system upgrades and replacements meet security hardening requirements.
- Supporting vulnerability assessments efforts under supervision.
Other
- Experiencing collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, and cybersecurity) in a professional industrial setting.
- Working in a full functioning MSPMSSP program for building and industrial systems.
- Contributing to system modernization initiatives, including virtualization, cloud integration, and next-generation control platforms.
- Assisting in maintaining asset inventories, vendor roadmaps, and technology refresh schedules.
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
