FWI is looking to strengthen its IT infrastructure and compliance posture by supporting ongoing cybersecurity initiatives. This involves bringing their Microsoft 365 tenant into alignment with CMMC Level 1 requirements, implementing a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), conducting security audits, and providing general cybersecurity support.
Requirements
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles and frameworks.
- Strong research, documentation, and technical writing abilities.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist in bringing the Microsoft 365 tenant into alignment with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 requirements.
- Supporting documentation of security practices and procedures.
- Reviewing, implementing, and validating security controls.
- Assisting with internal self-assessment preparation and execution.
- Contribute to the design, testing, and rollout of a virtual desktop environment to reduce reliance on physical laptops.
- Conduct audits of tenant security configurations.
- Identify gaps and potential vulnerabilities within systems.
Other
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be currently enrolled at a Virginia state college or university.
- Major in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. (Preference given to candidates pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
