Brightly Software, Inc. is looking for a Cybersecurity Intern to support their Cyber Security team in product and corporate security initiatives, experiment with AI tools for better customer response, and learn to identify and assess vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts and system vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT, preferably creating and using RAG (retrieval augmented generation) techniques.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools or SIEM solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Cyber Security team across product and corporate security initiatives.
  • Experiment with AI powered tools that will help the Cyber Security team better respond to customer requests.
  • Learn to identify and assess vulnerabilities in application code, collaborating with engineering teams to determine relevance.
  • Assist with threat, configuration, and patch management in alignment with compliance standards and security frameworks.
  • Participate in incident response and remediation activities.
  • Contribute to security awareness and education efforts across the organization.
  • Work with the Cyber Security team to advance roadmaps and initiatives using agile methods.

Other

  • Current enrollment in a university program related to Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in learning about security challenges and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
