NCCI is looking to foster a healthy workers compensation system and is seeking an Information Security/Cybersecurity Intern to join their Enterprise Information Security team to support information security initiatives and projects.
Requirements
- Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- General knowledge and hands-on coursework (lab) experience with cybersecurity endpoint, network, vulnerability, forensic, and log management tools
- Basic understanding, knowledge of, and hands-on capabilities with operating system configuration (Windows, Unix, Linux) and networking (DNS, DHCP, routing protocols)
- Ability to analyze event and incident logs, and work with teams to assess security events related to malware, vulnerabilities, and exploits
- Basic exposure to one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) preferred
- General understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts
- Solid practical hands-on experience with computers
Responsibilities
- Perform data collection, ticket processing, analysis, and remediation tasks
- Work alongside one or more mentors to perform tasks associated with information security practices
- Participate in IAM activities and the processes of event assessment and escalation to senior members of the Information Security team
- Analyze event and incident logs, and work with teams to assess security events related to malware, vulnerabilities, and exploits
- Implement, manage, and enhance cybersecurity controls across the business
- Contribute to short-term 3–4-month initiatives to help drive improvements within the information security space
- Participate in frontline tasks associated with information security practices
Other
- Currently pursuing a degree or enrolled in a reputable trade program in Cybersecurity or other related Information Technology degree
- Some College education level
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be local to the Boca Raton, FL area
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
