The COLUMBIA Class Integrated Power Systems Directorate is looking to support the design, manufacture, test, shipboard integration, analysis, and system testing of the COLUMBIA Class Main Propulsion Control System.
Requirements
- Experience using Microsoft products
- Experience working with government customers
- Multi-disciplinary systems engineering experience in complex systems based products
- Experience in control systems, software configuration management, and digital signal processing theory and development
- Experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink
- Understanding of power electronic theory
- Experience with digital signal processors, general purpose processors, control systems
Responsibilities
- Manage supplier MPC software design and redesign efforts
- Verify control system design compliance with specifications and system requirements
- Support testing and troubleshooting for MPCs at the IPS CTF and supplier facility
- Serve as a technical mentor and reviewer for internal technical products
- Enforce technical requirements on vendors
- Support future software improvement development and implementation
- Understand power electronic theory to assess control system impacts to external IPS components
Other
- BS or MS engineering degree with technical background
- 5-15 years of relevant engineering experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Ability to occasionally travel to remote facilities within the United States
