Optum is looking to improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care, pharmacy benefits, data and resources they need, and the Project Analytics Specialist will help advance health optimization on a global scale by analyzing data, developing analytics tools, and providing actionable insights.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics
- 2+ years of experience writing intermediate to advanced SQL
- Advanced level of knowledge of data analysis and data quality best practices
- Advanced level of proficiency in Excel
- Intermediate level of proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Experience working with Python (ability to read and understand Python scripts and ability to adjust scripts)
- Demonstrated understanding of data pipelines, database structures and ETL practices
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with global team members to develop, deploy, and maintain BI tools and automated reporting.
- Analyze, research, develop, and maintain project data for trend analysis and control.
- Investigate issues and cases to identify root causes and provide impact analysis for ongoing problems, changes, and requests for new functionality.
- Identify and address data quality issues, outliers and missing values
- Perform exploration data analysis to uncover trends, patterns and relationships within datasets
- Oversee ingestion pipelines and troubleshoots errors related to data.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency, and other critical business performance metrics

- Collaborate and communicate.
- Communicate effectively to ensure alignment across all teams.
- Serve as a champion to Episource clients.
- Train the client and other stakeholders on large-scale change orders as needed.
- Act as a client subject matter expert.
