Newsweek is looking to hire a Data Analyst to support the city ranking methodology by collecting, processing, and analyzing diverse datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and relevance to provide an analytical foundation for the project's outputs.
Requirements
- Good SQL skills within a Postgres or similar database
- Data science coding experience (for example in R or Python)
Responsibilities
- Support the creation of the rankings database, including design of data structures and the master data management approach.
- Collect, load, transform, and analyze datasets (economic, environmental, survey, etc.).
- Filter and sort data to support the ranking process.
- Write code to transform data within the rankings data architecture
- Support desk research and expert panel analysis with quantitative insights.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across all geographies and sources.
- Prepare data for editorial and reporting outputs, including visualizations and tables.
