The Department of Epidemiology in the Mailman School of Public Health needs a quantitative Data Analyst to manage and analyze data for a project on cannabis policies and outcomes in pregnant individuals, utilizing administrative claims and policy data.
Requirements
- experience analyzing data
- proficiency in SAS, Stata, and/or R.
- Some experience with large datasets and DiD is essential.
- Experience with quantitative data management and analysis.
- experience working with administrative claims data, prior knowledge of the International Classification of Diseases codes (ICD)
- Proficiency in SAS, Stata, R is essential.
Responsibilities
- provide data management and conduct analysis of a project focusing on cannabis policies and cannabis outcomes in pregnant people, including administrative claims data and policy data.
- data management and cleaning of administrative claims data of a cohort of pregnant people
- regression and quasi-experimental methods (DiD analyses) and causal medication analyses.
- provide assistance with preparation of reports and papers for publication
- assistance with developing related grant proposals and research protocols to extend the scope of the project
- 80% data analysis
- 10% IRB and other administrative tasks

- Officer of Administration
- Bachelor’s degree
- A master’s degree or equivalent in training, education, and/ or experience.
- Work experience in biostatistics and substance use epidemiology
- The ability to work with large teams of investigators.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and be detail oriented.
- High-level interpersonal and organizational skills.
