The Department of Epidemiology in the Mailman School of Public Health needs a quantitative Data Analyst to manage and analyze data for a project on cannabis policies and outcomes in pregnant individuals, utilizing administrative claims and policy data.

Requirements

  • experience analyzing data
  • proficiency in SAS, Stata, and/or R.
  • Some experience with large datasets and DiD is essential.
  • Experience with quantitative data management and analysis.
  • experience working with administrative claims data, prior knowledge of the International Classification of Diseases codes (ICD)
  • Proficiency in SAS, Stata, R is essential.

Responsibilities

  • provide data management and conduct analysis of a project focusing on cannabis policies and cannabis outcomes in pregnant people, including administrative claims data and policy data.
  • data management and cleaning of administrative claims data of a cohort of pregnant people
  • regression and quasi-experimental methods (DiD analyses) and causal medication analyses.
  • provide assistance with preparation of reports and papers for publication
  • assistance with developing related grant proposals and research protocols to extend the scope of the project
  • 80% data analysis
  • 10% IRB and other administrative tasks

Other

  • Officer of Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A master’s degree or equivalent in training, education, and/ or experience.
  • Work experience in biostatistics and substance use epidemiology
  • The ability to work with large teams of investigators.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and be detail oriented.
  • High-level interpersonal and organizational skills.
