Supporting Federal Aviation Administrative (FAA) initiatives through data analytics
Requirements
- bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or closely related technical field
- three years (3) of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or project coordinator
- experience with various methodologies including Agile and Waterfall in the Software Development Life Cycle
- experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and ArcGIS
- advance use of Microsoft Office Tool Suite and Excel
Responsibilities
- utilizing Python, Java and/or high-level languages such as C-Sharp, C++ in database
- utilizing FAA flight and trajectory databases such as Aviation System Performance Metrics (ASPM), Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS), Performance Data Analysis and Reporting System (PDARS), National Offload Program (NOP) radar data, Terminal Arrival Efficiency Rate (TAER)
- using traditional RDBMS and Big Data systems/tools, e.g. Apache Hadoop, NoSQL
- formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions
- collecting and analyzing data and developing decision support software, service, and products
- analyzing data and recognizing errors in large, complex data sets
