Supporting Federal Aviation Administrative (FAA) initiatives through data analytics.
Requirements
- utilizing Python, Java and/or high-level languages such as C-Sharp, C++ in database
- utilizing FAA flight and trajectory databases such as Aviation System Performance Metrics (ASPM), Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS), Performance Data Analysis and Reporting System (PDARS), National Offload Program (NOP) radar data, Terminal Arrival Efficiency Rate (TAER)
- using traditional RDBMS and Big Data systems/tools, e.g. Apache Hadoop, NoSQL
- using modern software development concepts and technologies, including Object-Oriented (OO) and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
- data pipeline management, ETL/ELT, and data/system architectures
- applying statistical analysis techniques and tools
- using modeling and simulation tools and methods, including programming in Matlab, R, or other modeling tools/languages
Responsibilities

- formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions
- collecting and analyzing data and developing decision support software, service, and products
Other
- three years (3) of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or project coordinator
- using various methodologies including Agile and Waterfall in the Software Development Life Cycle
- advance use of Microsoft Office Tool Suite and Excel
