General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights to drive strategic business decisions within the department, specifically in the Navy Facility Engineering & Training Technologies Group.
Requirements
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database).
- Experience working with the entire Microsoft 365 Suite - especially MS Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI Desktop, Power Query, and DAX.
- SQL querying skills
- Working Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence suite
- Experience with programming languages such as VBA, MATLAB,.NET or similar tools
- Experience with Project Management/Scheduling and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models that meet evolving business requirements.
- Create and optimize complex data models, utilizing DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculations and Power Query for data transformation and cleansing from various sources (SQL databases, Excel, etc.).
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in Power BI reports through robust data validation, quality checks, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with department project leads to understand their analytical needs and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.

Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role, with a strong focus on Power BI development.
- Excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation
- Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills; ability to anticipate critical events
- Ability to prioritize work and accomplish tasks with minimum guidance
