The Kentucky Department of Education seeks to hire a Data Analyst to manage statewide enterprise education data systems and data governance, ensuring accurate, integrated data to support decision-making and legislatively required reporting for KDE, schools, districts, parents, and the public.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree OR associate's degree in information technology (IT) or related field OR certification in an IT-related field
- Two years of professional experience in IT data analysis
- Master's degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience
- Two years of additional related experience in IT data analysis will substitute for the education requirement
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in SQL
- Experience with data-oriented programming languages and tools
Responsibilities
- Perform data analysis and research. Use data-oriented programming languages and tools to collect, query, analyze, and report on data.
- Perform data analysis tasks and follow established standard procedures to assist in developing files based on file specifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address their data-related needs. Develop functional requirements documentation to transform raw data into reports and files that meet request requirements.
- Participate in developing methods to mitigate data issues and deploy corrective measures for data collection and reporting to help school districts.
- Proficiently utilize Microsoft Excel and SQL to test and compare data results.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency by applying various Excel functions and tools.
- Provide updates and report on the status of outstanding tasks as requested.
