Maimonides Health is looking to solve the problem of infection control and data management in their hospitals
Requirements
- Experience with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Healthcare Safety Network preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access to the degree required by the position
- Familiarity with hospital clinical systems e.g. Allscripts, SCM, Chart Maxx
- Knowledge of hospital functions and medical terminology
Responsibilities
- Collect, manage, and analyze infection control and communicable disease data from multiple hospital systems and databases (e.g., SCM, NHSN, Allscripts, ChartMax).
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of infections and communicable diseases to the Department of Health, CDC, NHSN, and other regulatory bodies.
- Conduct data validation and analysis for C. diff, multi-drug resistant organisms, surgical procedures, and device-related infections.
- Generate and distribute infection control reports, dashboards, and presentations to leadership and staff.
- Provide administrative and operational support for the Infection Control Department, including scheduling, inventory, timekeeping, billing, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive clinical and departmental information at all times.
- Collaborate with Infection Preventionists on surveillance, outbreak investigations, regulatory reporting, staff education, and committee support.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2-5 years of secretarial/administrative assistant and data management experience in medical (preferably hospital) environment
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position.
