Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services is looking to solve the problem of evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of its programs and services, and making data-driven decisions to improve them.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data
- Knowledge of research and statistical practices including principles and methods
- Extensive experience with databases, data analysis and reporting tools
- SQL knowledge/experience
- Ability to analyze and evaluate complex problems, conduct thorough research, and formulate a course of action
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, handle stress, and produce work under extremely tight deadlines
- General knowledge and/or experience in working with state or federal agencies, especially those dealing directly with programs for the aging and disabled
Responsibilities
- Program analysis, evaluation, reporting and modification
- Research: conducting specialized research studies based on administrative and research policies for the agency
- Teamwork: serving as a backup and support to other Program Evaluation Unit staff, and working on projects requiring a team approach
- Data analysis and reporting: preparing charts, tables, graphs, and narrative reports of findings for distribution to program directors, division directors, agency administrators, legislators and officers of regional nonprofit and federal agencies
- Projection of demographic changes and their impact on agency programs
- Consulting with agency managers and directors to determine future service needs and identify possible program changes
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with program managers, directors, and agency administrators to compile information for Ad Hoc and routine reports

- Must be able to obtain security clearance as applicable for state and federal data reporting systems
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Ability to coordinate work or organizational units and stimulate personnel to carry out efficient operations
