The Department of Public Health & Community Medicine is seeking a Data Analyst to manage and analyze DNA methylation data for an NIH-funded R01 project. The goal is to identify individuals at high risk of lung cancer and distinguish benign from cancerous nodules using blood methylation profiles and low-dose CT scan data.
Requirements
- Advanced R programming and data manipulation skills and experience creating data entry screens, verification and documentation
Responsibilities
- Filter or clean the data to remove errors and ensure consistency
- Correct errors or remove data from database
- Draft tables and develop figures for manuscripts/reports and presentation materials
- Construct data files in multiple formats for analysis
- Perform appropriate statistical analysis such as correlation, regression or time series
- Interpret data and summarize results
- Develop, modify and document coding system
Other
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired through a Master's Degree and 1-3 years related experience
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, math and writing skills
