NumeralHQ is looking to solve the business problem of simplifying sales tax compliance for online businesses by building the automation backbone for internet commerce. The Data Analyst role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and scalability of the platform by reconciling customer data and enhancing data quality.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize patterns across large or complex datasets
- Experience in reconciling financial or transactional data, preferably within e-commerce or payments environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting
- Comfort with navigating REST APIs and transforming data programmatically using Python or other scripting languages
- Bonus points for experience with DBT or similar ETL frameworks
- Familiarity with Stripe, Shopify, Fivetran, Parquet, S3, DuckDB
Responsibilities
- Reconcile financial and transactional data from multiple sources to facilitate accurate and consistent sales tax filings
- Normalize customer data across various platforms such as Stripe, Shopify, and Numeral API to ensure data integrity within tax workflows
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Solutions teams to troubleshoot and resolve onboarding data issues
- Support customer-facing teams with ad hoc data inquiries, investigations, and insights
- Develop internal tooling and processes to streamline reconciliation workflows and accelerate onboarding processes
- Enhance the performance and accuracy of DBT pipelines and contribute to evolving the broader data architecture
