The College of Engineering needs to leverage data to enhance strategic planning, improve student success, and support faculty research. This role will transform complex data into compelling visualizations to enable data-informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in creative, compelling data analysis and visualization.
  • Demonstrated expertise with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction.
  • Proficiency with presentation software like PowerPoint or Google Slides, with a strong eye for graphic design.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data modeling principles
  • Experience with higher ed data analysis and tools (e.g., Banner/WebFocus).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze student enrollment, retention, and graduation data to identify trends and support student success initiatives.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support the assessment and continuous improvement of academic programs.
  • Analyze financial data, including budget allocations, grant spending, and fundraising outcomes, to support the Dean's office in financial planning and resource management.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track research funding, faculty publications, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to a college of engineering.
  • Design and create interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Utilize and query the university's database systems, including the Banner system, to extract and prepare data for analysis and reporting.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from the Dean's office, department heads, and faculty.
