Optum Health Analytics is looking to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of healthcare data across various sources by hiring a Principal Data Analyst to lead efforts in designing and maintaining data pipelines, models, and quality checks within a Snowflake environment.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts
- Proficiency in data modeling and ETL processes
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex query writing, stored procedures, and query optimization
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve data issues systematically
- Experience with data quality checks and data monitoring processes
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into Snowflake
- Create and manage data models and schemas to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
- Develop automated data quality checks and monitoring processes to identify and resolve data discrepancies promptly
- Support the development of key operational metrics and data structures for leadership decision-making
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues independently or as part of a team to maintain data reliability
- Communicate findings, issues, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

- 5+ years of experience working on data analytics teams
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
