Stony Brook University Advancement Data Analyst will support Advancement and the Stony Brook Foundation by transforming data into meaningful insights that inform fundraising and engagement strategies. The Data Analyst will be responsible for reporting, analysis, and data quality initiatives while ensuring the security, accuracy, and integrity of sensitive endowment and donor data across Advancement and Foundation systems.

- Proficiency with SQL.
- Experience with data visualization and analysis software (Tableau, Power BI).
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Tableau, SQL, and Excel.
- Perform in-depth analyses to identify patterns, measure campaign effectiveness, and support decision-making across Advancement.
- Monitor data integrity within various Stony Brook Foundation and Advancement systems.
- Perform regular data cleansing routines, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement solutions for long-term accuracy.
- Document standards, processes, and validation procedures to ensure consistency and reliability across datasets.
- Automate workflows and streamline reporting processes to increase efficiency.
- Test, debug, and enhance reporting tools to ensure accuracy and user-friendliness.
Other
- Two (2) years of full-time experience in data analytics, reporting, data management, database applications and/or related experience.
- Experience working in a university, nonprofit and/or hospital setting.
- Experience with CRM, fundraising and/or email marketing software systems.
