The Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Data Intelligence and Analytics department is seeking a Data Analyst to join its Film & TV Content Analytics team. This role will help measure, understand, and take action on content trends and audience behavior that impacts the strategic goals of The Walt Disney Company.
Requirements
- Proficiency with SQL - ability to read/write queries, QA errors, and optimize for faster query runtimes. Can identify the right data tables and columns to use in a large data warehouse.
- Comfortable manipulating data pulled through SQL in tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or Python to conduct exploratory analyses and create data visualizations.
- Prior experience with dashboarding tools such as Tableau or Looker. Dashboard development experience is an added bonus.
- Can investigate an unusual trend in the data to find the cause?
Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses to drive valuable business insights, using internal analytics tools and SQL to access and manipulate multivariate data.
- Build data visualizations that convey key content engagement metrics, significant trends, and relationships across multiple data sources within the content domain.
- Ideate and develop new metrics and analytical approaches, measuring content trends and audience behavior for both tactical and strategic decision-making.
- Effectively communicate results through compelling data storytelling across the organization, both in oral presentations and via written reports.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis support to identify content trends that drive business performance.
- Understand the systems and business processes that populate critical systems with data and work to translate complex business questions into technical requirements.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Curiosity is encouraged.
- Highly collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Can communicate quantitative insights to non-technical audiences.
- Genuine passion for the entertainment industry and demonstrated interest in the streaming landscape.
