ECS is seeking to solve business problems by utilizing emerging technology to ingest data in real-time at extreme volumes and high velocity, and to support data mining, data analysis, and data visualization for an enterprise big data and analytics platform
Requirements
- SQL or other structured query languages
- Mastery of MS Office Suite (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data analytics
- Strong mathematical calculus background; knowledge of measures in the physical world
- Experienced with querying and exploring data within a NoSQL data platform (e.g. Hadoop/Hive)
- Familiarity with Avro schema
- Ability to quickly understand Postal processes, terminology, and physical data sources (POS, scan, scales, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Versatile data analyst - able to support data analysis needs in a software development lifecycle and in a business support capacity to find data insights to solve a business problem
- In a software development lifecycle - Provide inputs into data arch design, analyze data outputs to validate data quality and communicate gaps to the development team
- In a software development lifecycle - Validate SIT and CAT results to ensure product meets acceptance criteria
- In a software development lifecycle - Support production data validation and investigations
- In a business support role - Triage and investigate user inquiries
- In a business support role - Query and analyze data to identify business insights
- Support data mining, data analysis, and data visualization
Other
- 3-5+ years of experience
- US Citizen or Green Card holder and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communications skills (both verbal & written) - ability to work and communicate with all levels in team structure
- Team player with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and effectively manage time
