The University of Pennsylvania's Institute for Immunology and Immune Health (I3H) is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to develop, maintain, and deploy analysis pipelines that produce actionable insights from large-scale datasets generated by the Institute.
Requirements
- BA/BS in computer science or a quantitative discipline with at least 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with data wrangling and analytics in R
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, including written documentation and data visualization
- Interest in developing a basic fluency in the assays and data types used for immunology research
- Experience with Python, C++ or the command line
- Experience working with single-cell cytometry, transcriptomics, genomics or related biological data
Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed understanding of existing pipelines for quality control, analysis and interpretation of immunological data, and deploy them to new data that Immune Health is continuously generating
- Contribute code to new pipelines and functionalities
- Prepare results in written, tabular and graphical summaries, to help stakeholders make decisions and support publications
- Communicate frequently with the team to ensure that the computational work reflects biological and clinical goals. This includes generating reports tracking projects’ progress.
- Be flexible and adapt workflows to shifting priorities and requirements
