Chevron is looking to solve the problem of managing data in accordance with strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards by hiring a Data Analyst, Data & Insights - Data Governance.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in data analysis, data management, and data governance roles within medium to large organizations.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks, data quality tools, metadata management platforms, and master data management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Python) and reporting/BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with data governance tools, data catalogs, and metadata repositories (e.g., Collibra).
  • Excellent understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data architecture concepts.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and privacy laws.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

Responsibilities

  • Data Governance Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, standards, and policies to ensure effective management of data assets.
  • Data Quality Management: Design and execute data quality assessments, profiling, and cleansing initiatives to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Metadata Management: Oversee metadata collection, organization, and maintenance, ensuring detailed documentation of data sources, definitions, lineage, and ownership.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure organizational data practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Data Architecture Support: Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and IT teams to ensure data structures and systems align with governance requirements.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide insights into data governance, data quality, and compliance status.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Act as a data governance subject matter expert, providing training, guidance, and support to data stewards and business users.
