A-G Associates is seeking a Data Analyst and/or a Data Scientist of varying skill levels to join their dynamic team. These roles are pivotal in delivering data-driven solutions to their clients. As a Data Analyst or Data Scientist, you will collect, manage, analyze, and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Requirements
- Proficient in SQL, Excel, SAS (or other statistical software), and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with Python (pandas) or R programming (tidyverse) is preferred—nuanced understanding of more advanced, useful packages and writing functions or desire to learn a plus.
- Knowledge of Shiny, Quarto, and similar tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive meaningful insights from data.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management concepts is a plus.
- Experience with Federal clients, especially DoD, is highly desirable.
- Specific external consulting experience with Federal clients is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and organize data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external data feeds.
- Conduct statistical analysis (e.g., build predictive models) to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across various systems and reports.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like R, Python, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Translate data findings into actionable insights and present them to management and other stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with teammates, project managers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Make data-driven recommendations to improve business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and inform strategic decision-making.
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, or computer science. A master's degree is preferred for senior-level positions.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated consulting skills with experience in managing client relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
- Ability to complete a Department of Defense (DoD) background check, and U.S. citizenship is required.
- Occasional travel to client sites.
