Kpler is looking for a Data Analyst to help navigate complex markets by simplifying global trade information and providing valuable insights in commodities, energy, and maritime sectors. The role focuses on transforming raw vessel movement and cargo data into actionable insights, particularly for natural gas liquids (NGLs), LPG, and related commodity flows.
Requirements
- 3–6+ years of experience in data analysis of shipping flows, or energy/commodity datasets (NGLs/LPG experience a strong plus).
- Strong technical skills in SQL and Python.
- A passion for data quality, automation, and uncovering patterns in large datasets.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze shipping activity, cargo movements, and trade flows across global energy markets, with a particular focus on NGLs/LPG cargoes.
- Use SQL and Python to automate data quality checks, streamline ingestion pipelines, and build internal tools.
- Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot data ingestion and improve backend systems.
- Develop datasets and visualizations that transform complex raw data into clear insights.
- Contribute to forecasting models and market intelligence by ensuring high-quality, timely data delivery.
