Eversource's Resilience and Reliability Planning group needs to implement a data-driven strategy to strengthen the electric transmission and distribution grid to mitigate and adapt to climate change and to enable a modern, digital and decarbonized grid. This role is at the core of the creation of an enterprise-wide reliability and resilience strategy given a variety of complex considerations like operational challenges and regulatory constraints.
Requirements
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, statistical and mathematical skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, charts and building functions, required.
- Demonstrated programming experience with database programing (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Access, SQLite), Python, R and MatLab.
- Familiarity with PowerBI reporting is a plus.
- Familiarity with optimization, machine learning models, risk-based models and probabilistic analysis.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes processes and data and converts this into value added thinking and information and actionable insights.
- Identifies opportunities for process change or continuous improvement and participates in the acceptance and implementation of the change including the development of in-house analytics tools.
- Performs or assists in ad-hoc querying and reporting as requested by Eversource management or personnel.
- Works with various departments throughout the Company analyzing data and processes and translates their needs into optimization and analytics models and processes.
- Develops reports, prepares and delivers presentations, writes procedures and performs other activities as needed.
- Responsible for storm restoration and emergency assignments.
- Oversees work as needed including internal and external regulatory reporting, story telling and gets involved in internal and external stakeholder engagement.
