The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Data Analyst to support epidemiologic and clinical breast cancer research studies by managing complex data workflows, conducting advanced statistical analyses, and supporting research dissemination and grant development.
Requirements
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, or Python).
- Experience with electronic health records and cancer registry data is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and clean datasets, including complex linkages to electronic health records and imaging data.
- Prepare datasets for analysis based on study-specific analytic plans and maintain comprehensive data documentation.
- Query databases to generate reports and validate data accuracy.
- Write, edit, and maintain code to organize and analyze data using multiple statistical software languages.
- Conduct statistical analyses and collaborate with investigators and research staff.
- Assist in the writing, editing, and formatting of manuscripts for publication.
- Provide analytic support to undergraduate and graduate students participating in research rotations.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or data science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience in data analysis or research project coordination is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
- Position is contingent upon continued funding.
