Western National Insurance Group is seeking a Data Analyst I to translate business requests into results through data gathering and analysis, partnering with internal customers to clarify requirements and provide deliverables to meet their needs.
Requirements
- Some knowledge of SQL.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools and functions, especially with pivot tables in Excel.
Responsibilities
- Uses data to help solve business problems and answer questions about business performance and meets management and compliance analytical and reporting needs.
- Develops an understanding of data available within the Data Warehouse and learns the data structure within the various source systems.
- Collaborates with the Data Engineering Team by testing and validating data elements via defined test plans.
- Updates and / or modifies existing published Insight content.
- Pulls data from cleansed data sources and primary source system tables.
- Recognizes data quality and business application.
- Modifies and improves established reports.
Other
- Basic understanding of personal or commercial insurance lines.
- Up to three years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and data mining.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
