The New York Times is looking for an experienced data analyst to improve data quality across the organization and embed a data-driven perspective into internal audits and projects.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python, BI platforms, and spreadsheet programs
- 1+ years of experience with dbt, Mood, Looker Studio
- 1+ years of experience testing internal controls and business processes in media, finance, or compliance environments.
- Familiarity with accounting, finance, and risk management concepts.
Responsibilities
- You will query, mine, and analyze large datasets using advanced analytics and BI tools to support audit and management reporting.
- You will design and implement data testing procedures to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
- You will conduct risk assessments and walkthroughs of business processes for both manual and automated workflows as part of internal audit reviews.
- Advise teams on process improvements and best practices for data quality controls.
- You will investigate data anomalies, inconsistencies, or quality issues; provide applicable insights based on output analysis and an understanding of underlying business processes.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years' experience in data analytics roles with audit or risk exposure.
