The Data Analyst supports critical program and project decision-making within the NAWCAD Engineering & Logistics organization under NAVAIR's Mission Operations & Integration (MO&I) group by analyzing complex project data, developing actionable insights, and delivering high-quality reports and visualizations to support the execution of large-scale naval aviation programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data science or analytical roles, preferably supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or federal acquisition programs.
- Over 5 years of programming experience in modern programming languages such as C++, Java, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Strong understanding of project management principles, lifecycle methodologies, and risk management practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders through clear reports, dashboards, and briefings.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and experience supporting ACAT I/II programs is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project and program data to support performance evaluation, resource planning, risk identification, and decision-making.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools that communicate key metrics and project health indicators to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project and program managers to assess trends, flag risks, and identify improvement opportunities across cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses using advanced data science methods and tools to support forecasting, root cause analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Develop, automate, and optimize reporting workflows to increase data accuracy and accessibility for leadership and technical teams.
- Ensure alignment of metrics and performance indicators with program objectives, contract requirements, and NAVAIR standards.
- Support integrated project teams by translating data into strategic recommendations and actionable insights.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
