Newark Beth Israel Medical Center aims to become a data-driven organization, utilizing data to improve patient, family, and staff experiences. The Data Analyst will contribute to this goal by developing solutions for improving operational and clinical decision-making.
Requirements
- Experience with data visualization tools preferred (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc)
- Knowledge of relational database structures
- Strong Excel skills, ability to manipulate data, and master multiple databases

- Experience with Infographics
- Quantitative and Qualitative analytical skills to perform the above functions. Ability to break down problems in workable pieces; seek guidance and propose solutions

Responsibilities
- Works with teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop metrics, retrieve data, and ensure validity of results
- Creates appropriate data solutions (dashboards, reports, business intelligence tools, etc) and data analysis for the measurement of processes and outcomes
- Demonstrates excellent data storytelling skills through outstanding presentation and communication to share findings in an understandable and actionable manner tailored to audience and customer's needs
- Ability to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives as assigned
- Ability to produce reports and dashboard that meet the needs of the organization in the review and analysis of impactful data
- Develop and prepare scorecards, dashboards and summary reports showing high-level results and trends appropriate for different internal and external audiences
- Collaborate with IT and business units to advance reporting capabilities, and improve accuracy of data
Other
- Individual must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience in analytics / business intelligence
- Experience working as a data analyst within a healthcare setting
- Experience with Quality & Safety improvement initiatives
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills (Infographics) to transfer knowledge to team and customers
