Community Action Partnership Orange County (CAP OC) is seeking a Data Analyst-Researcher to support the Planning Department by managing data collection and reporting for agency funders and analyzing health challenges faced by low-income individuals.
Requirements
- Proficiency in databases and software systems, including experience with data management tools, data analysis platforms, and relevant software applications.
- Knowledge in ArcGIS, SQL, SPSS, SAS, and Stata is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite products, as well as Windows XP
- Computer literacy and using portable devices including PC Laptops, Printer, Cell phones, and Copiers.
- Experience with data management tools, data analysis platforms, and relevant software applications.
- Reporting, writing, analysis and research skills.
- Organize and conduct research, analyze data, draw sound conclusions and develop outcome measures to make appropriate recommendations based on data gathered for programs.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Provide guidance on improving and optimizing data processes, including support with dashboard/reports as needed.
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel to implement and/or maintain services and programs.
- Collects and analyzes data to produce agency reports, drawing conclusions that provide accurate, actionable support for formal reports, ad hoc presentations, papers, and discussions.
- Prepare additional reporting as requested by funders and program managers
- Coordinates research, planning and evaluation projects with other departments, schools, and external agencies to share information.
- Lead the facilitation and management of recurring agency data meetings and related projects.
Other
- BA/BS in Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Education, Health Sciences, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.
- Equivalent qualifications may include an AA degree or completion of at least two years of college, combined with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the nonprofit sector or a related area.
- Possess a valid California Driver’s License with a driving record that meets minimum standards established by CAP OC insurance carrier
- Proof of vehicle insurance, access to a vehicle and willingness to drive/travel when required.
- Language skilled: Demonstrate a clear, concise, and effective command of the English and Spanish or Vietnamese languages in both oral and written forms preferred, not required.
