USCENTCOM's data lake environment needs a data expert to support machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence development campaigns to improve intelligence for the nation’s warfighters
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing algorithms and data manipulation capabilities using programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL
- Knowledge of how to identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to develop data pipelines and integrate data tools and solutions to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers to monitor and report on data
- Ability to work collaboratively with Intelligence and Data analysis teams to produce qualitative and quantitative data that support Intelligence products
- Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL
- Experience with visualization packages, including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2
- Experience with C++, JavaScript, or Go programming languages
Responsibilities
- Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships
- Research, develop, and test data methodologies and generate cross-functional solutions through interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large data sets
- Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations
- Apply communication skills and data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience
- Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R, and Microsoft Office suite
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes
- Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides
Other
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Willingness to participate in a security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
