World of Books (WoB) is looking to advance its analytical capabilities and data maturity to support its next stage of growth, specifically within the US in-trade, supply, and operations.
Requirements
- SQL – strong experience required; can debug code and explore and query raw data; in Google Cloud environment.
- BI & visualisation – knowledge of Tableau/Power BI/Looker; can spin up dashboards that non-analysts actually use.
- Python – some experience in this, or R; leveraging Vertex AI.
- Deep-dive root cause analysis – understand the whys and root cause of a problem.
- User funnel analysis – understanding drop-offs and investigating.
- Experiment design – A/B, multivariate and incrementality tests including sampling methodologies.
- Customer intelligence – segmentation, LTV forecasting and cohort survival analysis.
Responsibilities
- Owning reporting and analytics for key business areas of focus where they will drive and execute multiple initiatives independently, this would include:
- Analysis that drives strategic decisions and sizes the opportunity
- Quantifying and challenging hypotheses and assumptions
- Reporting and defining metrics
- Understanding drivers of business performance
- Leading initiatives end-to-end which involves building and validating datasets, developing reporting, analysing complex datasets, and presenting results and actionable recommendations, and measurement of resulting actions.
- Improving efficiency by automating analysis to ensure focus is on new value-add analysis.
Other
- Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related field from a leading university.
- 3+ years in analytics, and ideally from Ecom/Marketplace background.
- Effectively collaborating and managing stakeholders by understanding their needs and managing their expectations, to challenging business partners to encourage healthy debate and the best outcome for the business.
- Cross-functionally collaborating closely with key business partners, Product, Tech, and others.
- Communicating insights effectively, translating complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations with a strong focus on commercial impact.
