The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus needs to evolve its curated portfolio of analytic solutions to turn data into insights, supporting clinical/operational processes and departmental/organizational initiatives to contribute to best-in-class patient care.
Requirements
- Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Power BI, PowerPivot, and Excel
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced proficiency knowledge of SQL, testing required.
- Familiarity with data warehouse design and data mining, and an in-depth understanding of database management systems and online analytical processing.
- Experience working with Epic or any other Electronic Health Record.
- Experience working with Python, R or other statistical modeling tools.
- Experience working w/ Artificial Intelligence (AI) specifically Microsoft Co-pilot.
Responsibilities
- Collect, consolidate, and validate financial data from diverse systems and sources.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports that support operational and strategic objectives.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power to present complex data in a clear, actionable format.
- Identify trends, variances, and key performance indicators to inform decision-making.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to reporting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Design, develop, deploy and innovate a broad range of analytical tools.

- Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of experience working as a Business Intelligence Developer or Data Analyst.
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
