Improving the quality of the data in the data warehouse by influencing data decisions within both Projects and Application Change Requests, as well as to help identify and resolve data issues in production at Wellmark
Requirements
- Familiarity with database systems, Microsoft Excel, and other data manipulation technologies, data visualization platforms and general data warehousing such as Microsoft Power BI, Sharepoint, SAS and Informatica tools
- Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to concisely communicate recommendations to all levels of the organization
- Prior internship experience and 2+ years of college preferred, but will consider all candidate applications

Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of a new enterprise Metadata Management application (data about data!) in Informatica EDC and Axon
- Support the initiative to expand data quality monitoring & management within a data tool such as Informatica Data Quality (Informatica Analyst/Developer) by setting up rules and building out alerts, scorecards and dashboards
- Support Data Governance reporting through the build out of Power BI dashboards
- Ability to understand Wellmark's approach to data management and governing data quality
- Work with modern data management and data governance tools (may include SAS as well)
- Gain exposure to business analytics and business intelligence practices
- Work closely to manage, maintain and enhance data sources behind the scenes from consumption
Other
- Current student studying Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related data management programs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make recommendations by translating data analysis insights into decisions and actions
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to develop proactive solutions
- Proven ability to work in a deadline driven, fast paced environment
- Available to work a hybrid schedule 10-20 hours/week during the academic year; in-office days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
