The Power Delivery Data Analytics organization needs to manage a portfolio of data analytics products to support Transmission functions, driving operational efficiencies, reducing costs, enhancing customer experience, improving reliability, and laying the foundation for future load growth across Alabama Power Company, Mississippi Power Company, and Georgia Power Company.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Transmission applications such as Primavera P6, TEAMS (estimating), and STOMP.
  • Transmission project controls and applications support.
  • Broad knowledge of and experience with internal company data, data systems, and data sources, as well as external data & data sources.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Transmission substation and line design.
  • Strong Power Delivery financial and Transmission capital project knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of regulatory standards in energy and engineering environments.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing product development from ideation to release (including testing, training, deployment, and support structure implementation)
  • Guiding product roadmaps and strategies
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Leading a project and/or project team
  • Providing strategic direction with application development
  • Successfully work in an organization that identifies, aggregates, analyzes, develops, and deploys data to drive comprehensive data and analytics efforts across all Southern Company’s electric operating companies, APC, MPC, and GPC.
  • Provide leadership for teams responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of data analytics applications, reports and tools.

  • Ability to deliver presentations to executives and senior management.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with experience credibly influencing highly technical and executive audiences; the ability to simplify complex subjects and articulate value and risk in clear business terms.
