The Transaction Advisory Practice needs to validate, optimize, and create value for middle-market transactions by providing financial due diligence services. The Data Analytics Senior Associate will help clients make informed decisions through data analysis and visualization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience in a similar function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level required
  • Experience in Accounting is required
  • Professional working knowledge of Tableau or Power BI (visualization), and Alteryx (data cleansing) is required

Responsibilities

  • Extensive exposure to granular accounting data, including reconciliations between financials and detailed data
  • Consolidate and synthesize data into actionable visualizations, focused on insights and action items
  • Provide observations into behavior, trends, financials and business operations through data analysis and the development of business intelligence visuals
  • Develop dashboards and clearly articulate the prominent themes and insights of the engagement
  • Utilize advanced business intelligence tools including complex calculations, table calculations, mapping, data blending and optimization of data extracts
  • Work closely with Grant Thornton teams to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues, leveraging other workstream findings to shape your analysis
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships to provide maximum value to our clients through the delivery of our full solution

Other

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA certification and/or relevant professional certification preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Can travel as needed, but typically less than 10%
