Phillips 66 is looking to enable its enterprise-wide digital strategy by designing scalable, secure, and efficient data platforms to fuel innovation, increase operational efficiency, and drive smarter decision-making across its midstream, refining, and marketing businesses.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience designing data platforms using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (Azure experience preferred)
  • Expertise in designing modern data pipelines using tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, or Informatica
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouse architectures, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Proficiency in data modeling (dimensional, relational, NoSQL), ETL/ELT, and schema design
  • Knowledge of master data management, data governance, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience in the oil & gas industry, particularly in refining, midstream logistics, or commercial trading
  • Familiarity with data mesh concepts and distributed data ownership frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade data architectures supporting refining, logistics, commercial, and corporate operations.
  • Partner with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to develop robust data pipelines, models, and integration frameworks.
  • Architect solutions across cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments using best-in-class technologies and Phillips 66 standards.
  • Define and implement data modeling standards for structured, semi-structured, and time-series data—especially historian and SCADA systems.
  • Ensure high data quality, lineage, and governance across the lifecycle of critical datasets.
  • Support the creation of scalable data lakes and data warehouses that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and ML model development.
  • Guide the adoption of metadata management tools, cataloging platforms, and data observability frameworks.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8 or more years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise IT—ideally in energy, manufacturing, or logistics
