Barclays is looking to hire a Data Engineer to contribute to critical financial crime anti-money laundering projects, requiring the development and maintenance of systems for data collection, storage, processing, and analysis to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and security.
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing data solutions using Python and PySpark, with a considerable grasp of distributed data processing and performance optimization
- Solid background in writing optimized and maintainable SQL queries across various relational database management systems (RDBMS)
- Proficient in leveraging AWS or similar cloud platforms to build scalable, secure data solutions
- Solid understanding of financial crime concepts, including AML and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Familiar with Databricks for collaborative data engineering
- Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise
- Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
Responsibilities
- Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
- Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
- Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
- Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
- making significant contributions to critical financial crime anti-money laundering projects.
